HEB Feast of Sharing

One of our memorable family outings during December was to volunteer at HEB's Feast of Sharing. Texas's grocery store chain served over 17,000 folks on that Saturday - buses brought folks in from all parts of the city, a marvelous band played dance music and some Christmas carols, folks were dancing, visiting and generally enjoying themselves. Pat and Mary cleaned off tables, while Carla and Jo were greeting at the front door. Meanwhile, Jerry brought his pocket trumpet and stood outside the front door of the Convention Center playing Christmas carols to the delight of the incoming guests. All during November and December, Jerry searched for a Salvation Army band that would let him play his trumpet with them--and he couldn't find any SA band anymore. So he just decided to do it by himself! Thanks, HEB, for what you do in our communities..many are grateful.
